School of International Studies held First Academic Workshop

In order to implement the “NJU Forging Ahead Initiative” Implementation Plan, strengthen academic exchanges among the faculty members and foster a vibrant academic atmosphere, the School of International Studies held the first Academic Workshop at noon on December 28, 2023. The theme of this workshop is “Southeast Asian Studies in the United States: Experiences and Implications”, which was delivered by Assistant Research Fellow Li Tu, School of International Studies.

Dr. Li Tu first shared her recently completed work titled “Southeast Asian Studies in the United States: Experiences and Implications”. She summarized four historical stages of the development of Southeast Asian studies in the United States. Based on the findings, she then provided empirical thinking for the development of Southeast Asian studies in China with regard to its characteristics of development. Following Dr. Li’s introduction, participating teachers launched warm discussions on this issue and provided many constructive opinions for Dr. Li to deepen her research on this topic.

The “Academic Workshop of the School of International Studies” aims to build a relaxing, lively, mutually reinforcing and supportive communication platform for academic exchanges and scientific research development among the faculty and students of the School, so that they can make friends with literature, cultivate benevolence and virtue, and promote the development and empowerment of the School, its faculty and students.
