Basic Information
Zong Huawei, Associate Professor and Assistant Dean at the School of International Studies, and Vice Dean of the Institute of Area Studies, Nanjing University. She holds a PhD in Law in International Relations from Peking University, a Master’s degree in International Affairs (Development Studies) from Sciences Po Paris, and a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. She served as First Secretary at the Permanent Delegation of the People’s Republic of China to UNESCO and a Chief-Section level official at the National Commission of China for UNESCO, with extensive experience in multilateral diplomacy and international organizations. She has published numerous papers in journals including World Economics and Politics, International Political Studies, Foreign Affairs Review, Human Rights, and French Studies. She is the author of the academic monograph The Art of Power Enactment: A Study of Discursive Practices at UNESCO, and she has both French-to-Chinese and English-to-Chinese academic translations. Chair of Thematic Research on Diplomatic Discourse Capacity in the research project Research on Capacity Building for Major-Country Diplomacy with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, a major project funded by the National Social Science Fund of China, led by Professor Wang Yizhou. 2. Participated in the research project A Study of International Organization Curricula in Universities across the World, a humanities and social science research project funded by the Ministry of Education, led by Associate Professor Liu Lianlian. 3. Deputy editor-in-chief of the textbook Area Studies Research Tutorial edited by Professor Wang Yizhou. The textbook has been included in the Programme for the Construction of Original Philosophy and Social Science Textbooks for Universities in the New Era by the Ministry of Education. Publications
